Tidbit: Greener Grass

"There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here".   (Author: Unknown)

Stumble Upon presented me with Ten Rules for Being Human, and the 6th rule is what reads above. I believe it to be true in the context that coincides with the assumption that an individual will experience a complete makeover of ones faults. No location can ever be responsible for a persons character, only more opportunities for it to be challenged in the scenarios presented to us. For a long period, in my short life, I hoped this to be false, but I was sadly, and happily, mistaken.

There were a lot of different aspects of being, that I was lacking in my strength, support, and/or mental stability. I attributed the shortcomings in my life to the geographical location of my mind, rather then the location of my principles. Along that path I tried to run, expecting to magically land on the path of redemption and clarity, but in turn hurt many people that did nothing but care and love me.

At the same time, I am a seeker of beauty, and beauty is here, there, and everywhere. The grass is greener on the other side is not always as true as we hoped, but I still need to have a peek and know for myself. I may have long moved past the most beautiful locations and moments in my life, but I would not have captured the glimpse that I did without going out and looking for it.
